What EXACTLY Was Martial Law To The Philippines

Marcos_declaring_Martial_LawIf you actually continue to believe the propaganda, lies and pathetic other bullshit your so-called leaders, teachers, priests and what-not have been feeding you these past 28+ years, you would come to realize the single, most important part of why you’re so stupid. Since 1986 you have continually allowed the oligarchy to drain your brain (and your wallet) to further their own gains. Which, quite obviously, is to make themselves richer. While keeping the rest of the country in the poorhouse.

“But they keep telling me it’s all the fault of President Marcos”?

And you believe that shit? Just how stupid are you? President Ferdinand E. Marcos was the single, greatest President the Philippines EVER had. The bullshit leaders of today will always slap “Martial Law” or “He was a Dictator” in your face. Let us first read and examine the guidelines of what became Martial Law, and what exactly was, Proclamation № 1081?

Proclamation № 1081 was the declaration of Martial Law in the Philippines by President Ferdinand E. Marcos. It became effective throughout the entire country on September 21, 1972, and was announced to the public two days later. It was formally lifted on January 17, 1981, six months before the first presidential election in the Philippines in twelve years.

History: Under the pretext of an assassination attempt of former Defense Minister, and Senator Juan Ponce Enrile and an ensuing Communist insurgency, Marcos ruled by military power through martial law. He altered a portion of the Constitution in the subsequent year, making himself both Head of State as President (Not Dictator) and Head of Government as Prime Minister, altered the political arena in the Philippines, and had his political party, Kilusang Bagong Lipunan or KBL (English: New Society Movement) control a unicameral legislature called the Batasang Pambansa. All these allowed Marcos to remain in power.

The proclamation was actually signed on 17 September, but was post dated four days later on 21 September because of Marcos’ superstitions and numerology beliefs. Marcos formally announced the proclamation two days after on midnight of 23 September 1972 via live broadcast on national television.

President Marcos formally lifted martial law on 17 January 1981, weeks before the visit of Pope John Paul II.

Listed below are the general orders promulgated by President Marcos following the declaration of martial law. We will attempt to clarify each Order afterwards, in italics.

Proclamation № 1081

General Order No. 1 – The President proclaimed that he shall direct the entire government, including all its agencies and instrumentalities, and exercise all powers of his office including his role as the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. (This simply states as a formality, that the President is the Commander-in-Chief. Which he already was, to begin with.)

General Order No. 2 – The President directed the Secretary of National Defense to arrest or cause the arrest and take into his custody the individuals named in the attached list and to hold them until otherwise so ordered by the President or by his duly designated representative, as well as to arrest or cause the arrest and take into his custody and to hold them otherwise ordered released by him or by his duly authorized representative such persons who may have committed crimes described in the Order. (This order states there was  a compiled list of known  criminals, Insurgents, Communists, Leftists and/or Radical troublemakers. It never once stated in any way that is was a way to abuse or over-control the people. It basically said… If you’re a threat to the continued well-being of this country and its people, you will be arrested.)

General Order No. 3 – The President ordered that all executive departments, bureaus, offices, agencies and instrumentalities of the National Government, government owned or controlled corporations, as well all governments of all the provinces, cities, municipalities and barrios should continue to function under their present officers and employees, until otherwise ordered by the President or by his duly designated representatives. The President further ordered that the Judiciary should continue to function in accordance with its present organization and personnel, and should try to decide in accordance with existing laws all criminal and civil cases, except certain cases enumerated in the Order. (GO No. 3 is the one that is most hidden from the people today. Unlike the lies being told of an “Iron Fisted” rule. GO No. 3 states that all junior Governments within the country, shall be allowed to continue as always. There does not appear to be any indication of an Iron Fist here folks. It simply says, Come tomorrow morning, It’s business as usual.)

General Order No. 4 – The President ordered that a curfew be maintained and enforced throughout the Philippines from twelve o’clock midnight until four o’clock in the morning. (This is pretty easy to figure out for yourself. And it’s only for 4 hours. Sounds acceptable to me folks.)

General Order No. 5 – All rallies, demonstrations and other forms of group actions including strikes and picketing in vital industries such as in companies engaged in manufacture or processing as well as in production or processing of essential commodities or products for exports, and in companies engaged in banking of any kind, as well as in hospitals and in schools and colleges are prohibited. (GO No. 5 orders there be no demonstrations that will damage the everyday economic workflow in business. As well as disrupt everyday scholastics.)

General Order No. 6 – No person shall keep, possess or carry outside of his residence any firearm unless such person is duly authorized to keep, possess or carry as such in Philippines except to those who are being sent abroad in the service of the Philippines. (This says no person may carry a firearm outside of his/her residence. It does not say you can’t own a gun.)

That’s it folks!!

There was never any order given regarding grabbing people in the night. No strange curfews from 6 pm until dawn. Etc. Almost everything you have been taught about the Martial Law years was about 90% pure bullshit, being repeated at a brainwashing level, by the oligarchy controlled media of today. Yes, of course there were arrests, killings and some other unhappy moments. But those actions were driven by the Communist insurgents, such as the NPA (New Peoples Army). The Abu-Sayaf (Muslim Radicals), MILF (Moro Islamic Liberation Front), and other criminal organizations that were becoming an ever-increasing threat to the nation and the people as a whole.

On the other hand, let’s take a quick (yet detailed) look at the 2 Aquino administrations.

EDSA RevolutionFirst, Cory Aquino. A widowed housewife with ABSOLUTELY ZERO political experience. She was thrust into office by a divided military. Not by some strange “People-Power” movement. In fact… She never led the whole EDSA mess as the media would have you believe. She was hiding out in Cebu. It was the church who put the people in harms way by demanding they take to the streets. And the ONLY reason it was a peaceful event, was because President Marcos gave the Military strict orders, to NOT fire upon the people.

As for Noynoy Aquino? During his tenor as a Senator, he did absolutely nothing of relevant value. He never attempted, let alone advised on any serious Bills to be passed into laws. And the ONLY reason he was elected President, was because of his dead (thank God) mother. And to this day, he has done absolutely nothing for the Philippines and its people. Instead, he has wasted millions of the Filipino tax payers hard-earned money on personal entertainment, and glorifying his mother as if she was a saint. And all the while, painting a false picture of the Marcos name, while glorifying his family name. Who, like the Cojuangco’s, are nothing more than a family of Robber-Barons, exploiting the farmers.

Which brings us back to the issue at hand. Martial Law. How many of you are aware that during this time, President Marcos was in the process of abolishing the oligarchy, and taking the vast fortunes out of the hands of these Robber-Barons and other thieving misfits, and returning it back to the people?

“But what about those victims of Martial Law”?

You still want to believe the Aquino/Oligarchy controlled media, don’t you? Again, EVERY single one of those poor, little victims, was in actuality a person of some questionable background. Either Communist, radical or some level of criminal. From where I stand folks… They all got what they deserved… JAIL TIME! And by the way… The financial restitution these thieving victims are getting, is coming from the Filipino taxpayers. Not some strange, Swiss bank account that President Marcos had.

Which brings me to an interesting point-at-hand, in the form of a question. “If… And I say IF… President Marcos (Or any world leader for that matter) was squandering away millions for himself, would you really give a shit about it, if he had made your country and lives so prosperous, that the people were happy, and content because they felt good about themselves”? Of course not. But instead, the ruling Robber-Baron classes of today want the wealth all to themselves, without returning any of it to YOU the people.

“Is any of this sinking in yet”?

“Are you feeling less stupid now”?

I sure hope so? Because we still have a long way to go reader.

I'm just another ExPat enjoying life here in Asia. I am also having the time of my life exposing the ugly truth about the present Governmental administration of the Philippines. Especially that of current President "BS" Aquino. And the rest of his Liberal Party assholes.
